The Best Defense?

Of course, it is a good offense! And what is key to a good offense for personal protection? A good quality powerful handgun that is easy to use and effective. Next question. What is the best handgun for concealed carry? Well, we could post thousands of opinions here and many would be right for a lot of people but not some people.  Therefore, you need to make that decision yourself.

Personally, I like a double action revolver for personal protection. Why you may ask?  Here are my reasons:

1) It is virtually idiot proof (especially in the double action only versions). You can tell at a glance if it is loaded or not and all you need to do is pull the trigger and it goes bang everytime.

2) It is available in powerful easy to find calibers.

3) It is accurate.

4) It is easy to conceal.

5) It is available in a variety of barrel lengths and grip configurations to fit the individual.

So, you ask, what would you recommend?  Now this will bring a thousand comments and some hate mail as well!

Here it is: The Charter Arms Bulldog 44

My reasoning?

1) Its a good, solid quality piece.
2) Easy to use with a decent trigger and good fixed sights.
3) Powerful caliber that beats all magnums on the market. (My opinion)
4) Easy to carry and easily concealable.
5) Scares the snot out of any BG that looks down that 44 caliber barrel!
6) Plenty of power and easier to control than a short barreled 357 Magnum.

I never thought to much of these revolvers in the early days since I was a big believer in high velocity bullets for defense.  But after buying one and shooting it, I've changed my mind. The quality is good, the size is just about perfect and the cartridge can't be beat for its intended all around purpose. It's a good defense gun against man or beast. (Carried mine in Yellowstone on vacation this year).  That big 240 grain lead SWC slug booking along at around 880 fps (Kudu Kustom load) is just the ticket when the chips are down. Some guys will say 'but it only holds five rounds'.  So what, you planning on missing a lot?

Kudu Kustom can make a custom load for you.  My recommended load for this gun is a 240 gr hard cast semi wadcutter bullet at between 800-900 fps.  Even down around 750 fps this is still a powerful gun for defense and will penetrate very well with a lot of knockdown power. Want something different?  Give us a call.  We can make the custom cartridge for you.
